" LIFT & UPLIFT "

by Tommy Tu

A saying that has become a big part of my life in creating THE LIFTING SOCIETY. The idea of being able to better oneself in order to inspire and impact others around them has fascinated me and now has become my life's mission.

Growing up as a skinny kid it made sense to go to the gym in order to start the change. However, like many others, the gym can seem intimidating especially with what social media and what's portrayed on our screens, when in fact, it is the most welcoming community with the warmest people that I have ever met. The scariest and biggest guys in the gym turns out to be more than what meets the eye.

Whether you're fat, skinny, tall, short, big, or small; there will always be judgement. I have met a wide variety of people who I have judged and have been completely wrong.

Just remember that you are in control of how others perceive of you. More than looks. More than size. Purify your heart and know your worth and do the same for others.

  • When I found them on Tik Tok, I already was inspired by watching a few of their videos. Which is I joined with the team and couldn’t be more proud to represent a brand with meaningful purpose that inspires people. Thank you for being awesome

  • I love the message of lift and uplift. We definitely need more positivity in the gym and that message and what you are doing is definitely impacting the world and the gym. I have tried spreading the message of the lifting society and show everyone you can be positive in the gym and uplift each other. Everyone is in the gym for different reasons and we need to help each other achieve those goals and I feel like that is what the lifting society is trying to do and I fully support it. I can’t wait for more drops and more things that can inspire the world. Lift and Uplift!

  • Hey, first I just wanted to say I love the message you’re spreading to encourage people to get in the gym. I was a track runner in high school and to fill that void of physical activity in college, I started lifting. I didn’t get too serious into lifting until my final year of college. I went through a pretty tough break up once I graduated, and although at times it was tough to stay motivated to go to the gym, I’m glad I continued going. At first it supplemented my craving for physical activity but now I treat it as both physical and mental therapy. It’s a place where I can reflect, improve, and relax. It’s my form of meditation. I’d say the gym has definitely been a significant factor in helping me grow as a person, and keeping me sane. Thank you again for spreading awareness.
